MEET YOUR GUIDE
Yes, he's a grub. Kids love a little yuck.
Mitti is a black soldier fly larva. These tiny crawlers are nature's compost crew. They munch through kitchen scraps and turn them into rich food for soil.
That's the whole idea behind Mitti Mate: waste becomes soil, soil grows food, and kids do the growing.Mitti means soil. A mate is a friend who shows up.
FOR PARTNERS: WHERE THIS COMES FROM
A kit is the newest thing we've built. The gardens came first.
Mitti Mate grows out of Mission SNG (School Nutrition Gardens), run by the Horticulture Floriculture Society of Ghaziabad. In Ghaziabad's government schools, children grow vegetables that go straight into the mid-day meal. They learn composting, seed-saving and seasonal planting along the way.
The programme has two goals: tackle malnutrition, and make climate resilience a skill children actually practise. The kit takes that same learning out of school and into every home.

THE MODEL
Two wings, one mission
Mitti Mate
The startup
Home growing kits, compost and soil products, and eventually a climate curriculum that brings what works in our school gardens to every household. The first product is the Mitti Mate gardening kit.
Mitti Mate Foundation
The foundation wing
School nutrition gardens, the inter-school competition, teacher and student learning material, and training gardeners to become climate educators. Open to CSR and philanthropic partners.
What's next
Now
Gardening kit and this QR-linked page

Compost from school compost units, packaged and compliant
Then
Grade-wise climate curriculum for schools and homes
Later
Mushrooms, bees, butterfly gardens and kid-run farmers' markets
PARTNER WITH US
We want partners, not just donors.
If you can open a door, fund a garden, grow a market or build with us, we'd like to talk.
CSR and funders
Sponsor school gardens, back the annual competition, or become an event partner. A school garden costs from roughly ₹30,000 to set up.
Schools and government
Bring a nutrition garden and our learning material to your schools, aligned to the Class 6–8 agriculture textbooks.
Investors and builders
We're building the startup wing now: kits, compost and a home climate curriculum. Co-founders, distribution partners and early backers, say hello.
